Abstract :
This research aims to determine the form of legal protection and resolution of consumerdisputes regarding the circulation of expired food in Gorontalo City. This research usesa descriptive juridical and empirical approach. Based on research, data shows thatfindings by the Gorontalo POM Center for expired food from 2020-as of August 2023amounted to 175 expired food findings in Gorontalo City and 1 case that was included inthe Gorontalo City BPSK for dispute resolution. And the forms of legal protection andforms of settlement have also been regulated in Law no. 8 of 1999 concerning ConsumerProtection and Law no. 18 of 2012 concerning Food and intensive supervision carriedout by the Gorontalo POM Center to reduce the amount of expired food circulating in thecommunity.
