Abstract :
The aim of this research is to find out the role of the school principal in managing the quality of student learning outcomes at SDN 2 Asparaga, Gorontalo Regency. The method used a qualitative research with descriptive approach. Data collection techniques are through observation, interviews and documentation. The results among the six indicators of the school principal role, such as the Educator, manager, administrator, supervisor, innovator, motivator and leader indicator, the most dominant indicators are the motivator, supervisor, leader and administrator. This is caused by the motivator indicator, school principals are more likely to provide motivation in the form of awards such as praise and prizes thus they can improve the quality of student learning outcomes. In terms of indicators, school principal supervisors routinely carry out learning supervision as a form of improving the quality of student learning outcomes as a form of evaluation carried out by the school principal. In the administrator indicator, the role of the school principal focuses more on involving all school parties both in program planning related to fund management and curriculum which of course has an impact on the quality of student learning outcomes. In the leader indicator, the role of the principal as a leader is very crucial and important in carrying out his obligations at school. Meanwhile, the role of the school principal, especially in managing the quality of learning outcomes at SDN 2 Asparaga, Gorontalo Regency, has been running effectively. This can be seen from all the very prominent indicators implemented in schools, such as indicators of input, process and output of education in schools. Input indicators where the principal in managing learning quality focuses on implementing teacher recruitment by conducting tests to obtain quality teaching resources and on the principal's process indicators in making decisions involving the school community and focusing on developing teacher capacity through workshop activities. Meanwhile, in the output indicators, there are school achievements both in academic and non-academic terms. Therefore, based on these issues, the role of the school principal is very crucial in advancing educational institutions in improving the quality of their services to students.
