Abstract :
Hypertension or high blood pressure is a health problem that is commonly found in society. The purpose of this research was to determine whether there was an effect of warm ginger water foot soak therapy on reducing blood pressure in hypertensive patients. Quantitative research method using Quasi experimental pre-post test. The sampling technique was purposive sampling. The sample was 30 respondents divided into 2 groups, namely the intervention and control groups. The results showed that the average blood pressure before the intervention group was 154.67 mmHg systolic, 96.67 mmHg diastolic, and after the average systolic blood pressure was 124.67 mmHg and 82.00 mmHg diastolic, while the average blood pressure in the control group was systolic 143.33 mmHg, diastolic 98.00 mm Hg and after systolic 140.00 mm Hg, diastolic 96.00 mm Hg. The results of the statistical test found that the p value in the intervention group was 0.000 (<0.05), while in the control group the p value was 0.096 (>0.05) there was a significant effect of reducing blood pressure in the intervention group. It can be concluded that warm ginger water contains essential oils and can stimulate blood circulation, there are gingerol compounds which function to widen blood vessels and improve blood circulation also stimulate nerves in the legs to activate parasympathetic nerves, causing changes in blood pressure. So it is hoped that ginger warm water foot soak therapy is carried out by hypertensive patients so that there is a decrease in blood pressure
