Abstract :
Integrated Management of Sick Toddlers (IMCI) is a standard of service and management in dealing with sick toddlers at the first level of health services, namely health centre. It takes the role of trained health workers to implement IMCI appropriately. This study aimed to determine the relationship between the role of health workers and the implementation of IMCI using a cross-sectional design. The sample in this study used total sampling, namely 20 respondents of IMCI-trained health workers found in 6 health centers in Gorontalo Regency. Data collection used interview sheets for the role of health workers and direct observation sheets on IMCI implementation. Data analysis using chi-square results found that 45% of health workers actively perform their roles, and 55% do not perform their roles in implementing IMCI. The analyst concluded that there is a significant relationship between the role of health workers and the implementation of IMCI, which has a p-value of 0.020. Suggestions for all health services are to carry out their roles as well as possible according to predetermined standards and be able to implement IMCI in all health centers.
