Abstract :
The purpose of this research was to improve the speaking ability of grade IV students of SDN 14 Telaga Biru, Gorontalo Regency. The results of the research and discussion were obtained in cycle I about students' speaking ability through role play model for grade IV students of SDN 14 Telaga Biru, Gorontalo Regency where the achievement of students who were able to speak from 25 students was 16 students or 64%, while those who were not able to speak were still 9 students (36%). In Cycle II, the results of the achievement of speaking ability of grade IV students of SDN 14 Telaga Biru, Gorontalo Regency can be described. From the 25 students who were able to read quickly, there were 23 students or 92%. Meanwhile, those who were not able to listen were 2 students or 8%. So with the results obtained from cycle I and improved again in cycle II, the speaking ability of grade IV students of SDN 14 Telaga Biru, Gorontalo Regency can improve their abilities by using the role-playing method.
