Abstract :
This study aimed to determine the role of self-adjustment in academic stress among out-of-town students. This research employed a quantitative method using simple linear regression. The study was conducted at Universitas Muhammadiyah Gorontalo, Telaga Biru District. The population included all out-of-town students with a sample size of 80. The sampling technique used was non-probability sampling with a snowball sampling design. The simple linear regression test results indicated a p-value of 0.000, which was smaller than the significance level of 0.05 (p < 0.05), and the t concluded was 31.689 > t table 1.990. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that self-adjustment has a role in academic stress among out-of-town students, with contributing aspects being behavioral factors, indicating that individuals experiencing academic stress would be affected in their behavior.
