Abstract :
The purpose of this study was to analyze and describe the relationship between self confidence and social support with social anxiety of prisoners in Class III Women's Prison inGorontalo. This study used a quantitative multiple correlation method with the population usedbeing 85 female prisoners, the sample of this study was 40 people. The technique used was anonprobability sampling technique including purposive sampling technique, this technique wasused because sampling was carried out only on the basis of consideration with the desiredelements. Data analysis on the partial correlation coefficient between the variables of self confidence and social anxiety resulted in R = -0.379 p = 0.000 and the relationship betweensocial support and social anxiety resulted in R = -0.398 p = 0.000. Furthermore, the results ofmultiple correlations to measure the relationship between self-confidence and social supportwith social anxiety obtained an R Square value of 0.493. This shows that there is arelationship between self-confidence and social support with social anxiety in female prisonersin Class III Prison in Gorontalo.
