Abstract :
Asthma is a condition in which the airways are narrowed due to hyperactivity of certain disorders that cause inflammation. Asthma can cause anxiety, due to tightness that often recurs suddenly so that it can interfere with sleep. The purpose of the study was to determine the relationship between anxiety levels and the sleep quality of asthmatics. The research design uses correlational descriptive with a cross-sectional approach. The population of this study was patients at the Puskesmas Kota Timur, Gorontalo City, which was 70 respondents. The study sample used total sampling. Data collection using questionnaires. The results of the study between the relationship between anxiety levels and sleep quality of asthmatics were 70 respondents (100%). Mild anxiety 1 respondent (1.4%) moderate anxiety 16 respondents (22.9%) severe anxiety 53 respondents (75.7%) good sleep quality 15 respondents (21.43%) poor sleep quality 55 respondents (78.57%). The results of the chi-square statistical test obtained a p value = 0.00 smaller than the value of a = 0.05 which means that Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted, so it can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between anxiety levels and sleep quality in asthmatics in the East City of Gorontalo City.
