Abstract :
Stunting is the chronic nutrition of toddlers which is marked with short body compared to their peers. One of the factors that can influence the incidence of stunting is the lack of knowledge and attitudes of mothers in preventing stunting in children. Purpose of this study was to describe the attitudes and knowledge of mothers in preventing stunting in toddlers in the working area of the Limboto Health Center, Gorontalo Regency. The design of this study is to use a quantitative method with a cross sectional approach. The total population is 2881 toddlers with a sample of 100 people. The results of the study were obtained from 100 mothers as many as 61 respondents (61%) had a good attitude in preventing stunting and for knowledge as many as 66 respondents (66%) had good knowledge in preventing stunting. The results of this study also found that the incidence of stunting in toddlers in the Limboto Health Center work area was 44 toddlers (44%) with a short category of 33 toddlers and a very short category of 14 toddlers. The conclusion is that the majority of mothers have good attitudes and knowledge in preventing stunting in toddlers in the working area of the Limboto Health Center, Gorontalo Regency.
