Abstract :
Gout is a metabolic disease caused by high levels of uric acid in the blood as a result of purine metabolism. One of the plants which is often used in traditional medicine is the Kumis Kucing plant. The content of Kumis Kucing orthosiphon glycosides which can reduce uric acid levels in the blood. The objective of research was to determine the effect of Kumis Kucing boiled water on reducing uric acid in Manawa Village, Patilanggio District. The method was a quantitative study using an equivalent control group design with a total sample of 32 respondents divided into two groups, namely the treatment group of 16 respondents and the control group of 16 respondents obtained using total sampling technique. The results showed bivariate results using the Parametric test because the data were normally distributed. The p-value is 0.000, mean there are differences in uric acid before and after in the treatment group and the control group. It can be concluded there is an effect of Kumis Kucing boiled water on uric acid reduction in Manawa Village, Patilanggio District. researchers can apply this Kumis Kucing boiled water to prevent or reduce uric acid and not only at the time this research was conducted.
