Abstract :
Perineal rupture is an obstetric tear that occurs in the perineal area due to the inability of the muscles
and soft tissues of the pelvis during normal delivery. The purpose was to determine the relationship
between maternal age, parity and birth weight with perineal rupture in second-stage mothers at RSIA
Sitti Khadidjah, Gorontalo City. This research used a quantitative method with a retrospective
approach. Sampling in this study used the total sampling method with a total sample of 73 respondents.
Data collection used observation sheets and data analysis used the chi square test with a significance
degree of ? of 5% (p <0.05). The results of the analysis used the chi-square test at the mother's age
with a p value = 0.000. At parity with a p value = 0.007, and at birth weight with a p value = 0.008. It
can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between maternal age, parity and birth weight
with the incidence of perineal rupture.
