Abstract :
Bathing newborn for primiparous mothers is not an easy because the primiparous mothers are also worried that infection will occur when condition of the umbilical cord is still wet. The condition of the mother after the birth process, both normally and by sectio caesarea, will become an obstacle for the mother when caring for her baby, such as bathing the newborn. The aim of research was to find out the management description of bathing newborns 0-7 days in primiparous mothers. The research design uses a quantitative descriptive with a cross sectional design. Sampling using Accidental Sampling technique with 26 respondents. Collecting data using a questionnaire sheet. The results showed that the management of primiparous mothers in bathing their babies was in the Unfavorable category of 18 respondents (69.2%), the Good category 5 respondents (9.2%) and the Enough category 3 respondents (11.5%). The ability of primipara mothers to bathe their babies was in the category of incapacitated by 20 respondents (76.9%) and those who were able were 6 respondents (23.1%). The independence of mothers in bathing their babies was in the Dependency category as many as 16 respondents (61.5%) and those who were Independent were 10 respondents (38.5%). Therefore in this research the overall management of bathing newborn for primiparous mothers was in the less category. For this reason, adaptation and guidance from the closest person is needed thus in carrying out the care and management of bathing the newborn to be more focused Keywords: Primipara Mothers, Bathing Newborn, Management.
