Abstract :
Hypertension is a disease that can affect anyone, both young and old. Hypertension is also often referred to as the silent killer because it is a deadly disease. The purpose of the study was to determine. The effect of giving cinnamon decoction on blood pressure reduction. Research design quasy experiment pre-post test. The sampling technique is purposive sampling. The sample in the study amounted to 20 people divided into two groups, namely the intervention group and the control group. The results showed blood pressure before in the intervention group, systolic 151.00 mmHg, diastolic 94.00 mmHg, and after the average blood pressure, systolic 124.00 mmHg, diastolic 79.00 mmHg. While the blood pressure value before the control group was systolic 146.00 mmHg, diastolic 104.00 mmHg, and after systolic 141.00 mmHg, diastolic 97 mmHg. There was a significant effect of the cinnamon decoction on blood pressure. It can be concluded that Cinnamon contains flavonoids that are quenchers. These compounds act as antioxidants by releasing or donating ions to free radicals to stabilize, and phytosterols can help lower blood pressure. At the same time, essential oils are analgesic by stimulating blood circulation. So it is expected that hypertensive patients consume Cinnamon decoction to control blood pressure.
