Abstract :
Menopause is associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular disease. This is due to the influence of the hormone estrogen which can protect women from cardiovascular disease, one of which is hypertension. Lack of physical activity by postmenopausal women is one of the many factors that contribute to the increase or incidence of high blood pressure or hypertension. The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between physical activity and the incidence of hypertension in menopausal women in the work area of the Telaga Health Center, Gorontalo Regency. The design of this research is an analytical research design with a cross sectional design with a total sample of 45 people taken using a sampling technique, namely purposive sampling. The results of the study obtained p value (0.003) < (0.05), if p < means the hypothesis is accepted. Statistics and the chi square method resulted in the value of p = (0.003) < = 0.05. which means Ha is accepted. Physical activity is related to the incidence of hypertension in menopausal women in the work area of the Telaga Health Center, Gorontalo Regency. The need for further research by controlling by examining risk factors for hypertension such as smoking habits, salt consumption, sleep quality and quantity, stress and triggering factors so that it is expected to get better research results.
