Abstract :
NURUL AZIZAH SUKMA. Formulasi dan Evaluasi Sifat Fisik Dari
Sediaan Conditioner Yang Mengandung Ekstrak Etanol Kasumba Turate
(Carthamus tinctorius L.) (Dibimbing oleh Nurlina dan Iskandar Zulkarnian
MB).
sediaan kondisioner. Bunga Kasumba turate (Carthamus tinctorius L.)
memiliki aktivitas antioksidan kuat dengan nilai lC50 sebesar 35,4 ± 1,62 mg/L
kasumba turate mengandung beberapa flavonoid, dan hydroxysafflor yellow A
memenuhi persyaratan.

NURUL AZIZAH SUKMA. Formulation and Evaluation of Physical
Characteristics of Conditioner Preparations Incorporating Ethanol Extract of
Safflower (Carthamus tinctorius L.) (Supervised by Nurlina and Iskandar
Zulkarnian MB).
This study delves into the regular necessity for hair management and
maintenance to ensure its health, aesthetic appeal, and luster. It specifically
focuses on the development and evaluation of conditioner formulations
incorporating the ethanol extract of Carthamus tinctorius L., commonly known
as Safflower. Noteworthy is the potent antioxidant activity exhibited by the
Safflower, quantified by an IC50 value of 35.4 ± 1.62 mg/L. This flower is
characterized by its rich flavonoid content, with Hydroxysafflor Yellow A (HSYA)
being identified as the principal compound. HSYA's potential as a hair
nourishing agent is a significant highlight of this research. The primary objective
is to formulate conditioner preparations using the ethanol extract of Safflower
and to rigorously evaluate their pharmaceutical stability. The extraction process
involved maceration of the flower using a 50% ethanol solution. This extract
served as the active component in three distinct formulation variants. The
comprehensive evaluation of these conditioner formulations, labeled A1, A2,
and A3, demonstrated their pharmaceutical stability. Notably, the viscosity
assessments indicated that formulation A2 satisfactorily met the predetermined
criteria.
