Abstract :
Poppy Alfiani Ratnoto. Fungi Endofit Daun Kecapi (Sandoricum koetjape Merr.)

ABSTRACT
Poppy Alfiani Ratnoto. The antibacterial properties or compounds
of Endophytic Fungi found in Lyre Leaves (Sandoricum koetjape Merr.)
Under the supervision of Mr. Rachmat Kosman and Mr. Herwin.
The leaves of Sandoricum koetjape Merr, commonly known as
Kecapi leaves, are rich in a variety of chemical compounds including
flavonoids, polyphenols, saponins, and terpenoids. Harp leaves have been
observed to be efficacious in treating diarrhea, heartburn, and bacterial
infections, including boils. The objective of this study is to assess the
antibacterial effect of lyre leaf extract against bacteria responsible for skin
infections using TLC-Bioautography. The isolation of the endophytic
fungus from the harp leaf plant (Sandoricum koetjape Merr) yielded a
substance that effectively inhibits bacterial growth. Based on the
purification results, a total of 12 distinct isolates were obtained, each
assigned a unique code: IFDK 01, IFDK 02, IFDK 03, IFDK 04, IFDK 05,
IFDK 06, IFDK 07, IFDK 08, IFDK 09, IFDK 10, IFDK 11, and IFDK 12.
Findings from activity assessment The antibacterial agent that exhibited
the greatest zone of inhibition in isolate IFDK 05 effectively suppressed the
growth of Pseudomonas aeruginosa bacteria by 16,334 mm, while isolate
IFDK 12 inhibited the growth of Propionibacterium acne bacteria by 10,334
mm. The TLC-Bioautography analysis of the isolate coded IFDK 05
revealed active spots with Rf values of 0.91, 0.81, and 0.58, indicating
antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus
epidermidis, Propionibacterium acne, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
Additionally, an Rf value of 0.40 exhibited antibacterial activity against
unspecified bacteria. Staphylococcus aureus, Propionibacterium acne,
and IFDK 12 isolates with Rf values of 0.91, 0.81, and 0.58 respectively
exhibited active spots against Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus
epidermidis, Propionibacterium acne, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa
bacteria. Additionally, an Rf value of 0.40 showed activity specifically
against Staphylococcus aureus bacteria, Staphylococcus epidermidis,
Propionibacterium acne, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
