Abstract :
This research was motivated by the low cognitive abilities of children in the group B3 at Kindergarten PKK Mario. The problem found was that there were still children who still have difficulty completing the tasks given, especially cognitive-related learning. This research aimed to determine the role of busy books in improving the cognitive abilities of children in the group B3 at Kindergarten PKK Mario, Luwu Regency. This research was classroom action research. The subjects in this research were children from the group B3 of Kindergarten PKK Mario, semester II of the 2020/2021 academic year. The number of students in group B3 is 16, consisting of 12 females and 4 males. This research was conducted in collaboration with class teachers and school principals. Data was collected by means of observation, interviews and documentation. Data from the research were analyzed descriptively qualitatively and children's learning outcomes were analyzed using descriptive quantitative percentage techniques. The results of this research show that children's cognitive development has increased after taking action through playing busy books. Pre-action observations were carried out, the percentage of children who developed cognitive aspects was 25%, then in cycle I there was an increase of 87.5%. Children's developing abilities include being able to complete all tasks given through the media independently, children can also remember and retell the activities they have done in the media in a simple way. The conclusion of this research is that playing busy books can improve the cognitive abilities of children in group B3 at Kindergarten PKK Mario.
