Abstract :
The aim of this research to confirm the causative agent suspected fowl cholera in a broiler farm on Rhee Sub-District, Sumbawa District. The sample were isolated from broiler chickens suspected fowl cholera with clinical sign and post-mortem findings. The samples were taken from heart and liver. All samples were inoculated on Blood Agar and incubated for 24 hours at 37oC. Confirm to Pasteurella. multocida with Gram staining, Catalese test, growth on MacConkey Agar, and Biochemical test such as Triple Sugar Iron Agar, Sulfide Indole Motility, Simmon?s Citrate Agar, Urease and Sugars test included glucose, sucrose, maltose, mannose and lactose. The bacterial colonies were examined for their morphological and biochemical characteristics of P. multocida. The result indicated the positif one of bacterial culture from 30 samples of broiler chicken showed similarity characteristic P. multocida. The present of fowl cholera in a broiler farm on Rhee Sub-district, Sumbawa District was 3.33 % from 30 broiler chickens.
