Abstract :
Background : In case of loss of all teeth with a large torus palatinus is one of the complications in the manufacture of removable complete dentures. In this case, a removable complete denture will be made with acrylic resin material by freeing the torus palatinus. The manufacture of removable complete dentures in this case requires proper technique in order to produce a stable and retentive denture. Purpose : to find out how the technique of making a removable complete denture acrylic resin with a large torus palatinus. Literature Review: removable complete denture is a dentures that is used to replace all missing teeth, both in maxilla and mandibular which can be removed and installed by the patient himself. Torus Palatinus is a condition where there is a bony lump (exostosis) on the Palate. Retentive is a defense against vertical forces that want to release the denture base from its position. Stabilization is the ability of the denture to remain stable in place and not change position due to chewing pressure while functioning. Conclusion: Preparation of removable complete denture acrylic resin by freeing the Torus Palatinus requires a suitable individual tray so that the dentist can perform sublingual and dynamic impression techniques to obtain the stability and retentive support areas of the removable complete denture. The arrangement of teeth by the technician with the neutral zone concept can improve the retentive and stability of the denture when speaking and chewing.
