Abstract :
IMPLEMENTATION OF PKPU NO. 4 OF 2022 IN THE IMPLEMENTATION OF
POLITICAL PARTY VERIFICATION OF PROSPECTIVE PARTICIPANTS IN THE
2024 ELECTION
ABSTRACT
This research aims to examine the implementation of General Election Commission
Regulation (PKPU) No. 4 of 2022 in the implementation of verification of political
parties as candidates for the 2024 Election. PKPU No. 4 of 2022 regulates in detail the
procedures and criteria for verification of political parties at both the central and
regional levels. This research uses a qualitative approach with analytical descriptive
methods. Data was collected through literature study, documentation, and interviews
with related sources.
The research results show that the implementation of PKPU No. 4 of 2022 has provided
a clear and detailed framework regarding political party verification procedures. This
verification process includes registration, administrative verification, factual
verification, and determination of political parties participating in the election.
However, there are several obstacles faced in implementing verification, including
technical obstacles in the use of the Political Party Information System (SIPOL), lack of
understanding by political parties regarding applicable regulations, and limited human
resources.
Overall, this research concludes that the implementation of PKPU No. 4 of 2022 has a
significant influence on the effectiveness of the verification process for political parties
as candidates for the 2024 Election. To increase the effectiveness of implementation, it is
recommended that there be increased outreach regarding PKPU No. 4 of 2022. 4 of2022 to political parties, increasing the capacity of human resources at the General
Election Commission, and developing a better information technology system.
