Abstract :
International trade is trade carried out between countries to create a global trade cycle. China's economic development after joining the WTO created a balance deficit with the United States. The United States, which was originally oriented towards a liberal economy, has begun to shift since the leadership of Donald Trump, who adopted several protectionist policies. This research aims t determine the dynamics of the trade war between the United States and China during Donald Trump?s leadership in 2018-2020 using the Trade Liberalization Theory and the Trade War Concept. The trade liberalization aspect in this research refers to the protectionist policy of the United States, which is country to the theory of trade liberalization. And the concept of trade war is used to analyze the dynamics of the tariff war between to the countries. The dynamics of the trade war between the two countries had an impact on global economic uncertainty during that period. Qualitative research methods are the basis for writing in describing the results and collecting data in this writing. The dynamics of the US-China trade war in 2018-2019 continued to increase and began to subside in 2020 when the WTO decision was issued.
