Abstract :
Renewable energy is energy that comes from nature, which if used will never decrease or run out. One of the renewable energy is sunlight. The sun emits energy from its light radiation, the energy from this solar radiation can be utilized for the benefit of humans, one of its uses is by converting solar radiation energy into electrical energy with the help of solar panels or photovoltaic. To increase the efficiency of electricity production in solar panels, one way that can be done is to add Single Axis Tracking. The Photovoltaic Single Axis Tracking system is expected to always face the sun, the deviation of the direction of the solar panel from the direction of the sun will reduce the performance of electrical energy generation. One of the control techniques offered to overcome this problem is a PID controller with a Bat Algorithm (BA) tunning. The design of the BA-PID controller is done by simulation in Matlab. This study compared several uncontrolled methods, Standard PID, PID-Auto, and PID-BA. From the results of the research that has been carried out, it shows that the smallest overshot of -1.09 pu is PID-Auto, the smallest undershoot is 0.998 on PID-Auto, the fastest settling time is 0.007 seconds on PID-BA. So it can be concluded that PID-BA is the best controller in this study. Keywords: Single Axis Tracking, Bat Algorithm, Photovoltaic.
