Abstract :
Abstrac Utilization of fossil energy as electrical fuel causes the earth to experience global warming. As a tropical country, Indonesia has great potential to develop solar energy as a substitute for fossil energy. Increased efficiency in capturing sunlight will further optimize the work of Solar Power Plants (PLTS). One way that can be done is to make a sun tracker so that the solar panels can follow the direction of the sun's motion. The sun tracker optimization design uses a single axis using Proportional Integral Differential (PID) control tuned with Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) which is expected to be able to get the right angle between yaw and pitch with Azimuth and Elevation Angle. The design of the PID-ACO controller is done using Matlab software. For the vertical rotation axis, it is expected to obtain the best PID-ACO constant, which will later affect the performance and optimization of the photovoltaic system contents. The best optimization results use ACO-based PID with a setting value of 0.094 s on the vertical axis. Keywords ? Single Axis Tracker, Ant Colony Optimization (ACO), Photovoltaic
