Abstract :
Watering is an activity that needs to be done intensively depending on time and conditions on the needs of a plant cultivation. The need for adequate water is an important factor for plant growth and productivity, and affects soil moisture. But if the plant has excess water, it stagnates it can also cause rot in the plant. An example is the cayenne pepper plant which requires special attention in the watering sector. Plant owners as cultivators usually do watering manually by providing water according to schedule. However, this method is less effective, because it requires a lot of time to maintain and always predict the weather conditions. From these problems, it is necessary to have a tool that can control plant watering with an automated system. So that it can make time efficient in cultivating plants in the watering sector. This tool uses the microcontroller NodeMCU Amica as the main controller, with the implementation of the HW-390 soil moisture sensor module to determine plant soil moisture, and the DS18B20 temperature sensor to monitor the temperature around the plant. This soil moisture value will trigger the pump to stop for watering. The values obtained from both sensor modules are saved to the database and displayed on the website-based monitoring. The test results of the tool can perform watering automatically properly based on the readings of the soil moisture sensor, and the delivery of the value of the two sensor modules goes well to the monitoring website periodically.
