Abstract :
The fulfillment of irrigation water needs in the Mrican Kanan irrigation area in Pilang Hilir Secondary is very important to support agricultural productivity in the area. Agricultural productivity can also be maximized if the amount of water needed by plants is sufficient and its use is also regular. For this reason, the analysis of Water Needs and Availability in the Pilang Hilir Secondary Canal from the Right Mrican Main Canal aims to determine the need and availability of water in the Kanan Mrican irrigation area in the Pilang Hilir Secondary Canal. The methods used are: data collection, hydrological analysis and report preparation. The data obtained from this study are land area, cropping patterns, rainfall data, discharge data, maps of land area and channel length and produce comparative information between water demand and available discharge. From the recording of the secondary Pilang Hilir water discharge for 10 years, it was found that the maximum discharge in the Pilang Hilir Secondary was on average = 802.44 lt/sec. Downstream average = 726.89 lt/sec. So from the calculation of the water balance it can be seen that there is a surplus of irrigation water = 75.55 lt/sec. Keywords: water demand, water availability, Secondary Pilang Hilir
