Abstract :
ABSTRACT Flooding is a condition in which areas that are not normally inundated by water become inundated. And such a situation is very detrimental both morally and materially, such as the obstruction of transportation routes which have an impact on the pace of the economy of a region. In Jombang Regency, flooding occurred causing inundation to occur at several points. This happens because one of the rivers in Jombang Regency, namely the Jombang Kulon River which is located in Jagalan Hamlet, Kepatihan Village, Jombang Regency is no longer able to work properly to accommodate flood discharge. This opinion was taken after doing some research and calculations. What was initially done was to measure the rainfall that occurred in Jombang Regency, then from the results of the rainfall measurements, the planned flood discharge was obtained. This flood discharge will be compared with the ability of the Jombang Kulon River so that sections that are not able to accommodate flood discharge will be obtained. There are several causes of flooding and one of them is sediment. In addition, steps that can be taken to overcome sediment deposits are by way of River Normalization Planning. From the studies and calculations that have been carried out, the solution to this problem is the need for a new drainage channel to cope with flooding in the village. The results obtained are as follows: Existing debit (Qex) = 22,635/s Planned debit (Qrenc) = 37.39 m3/sec. Jombang Kulon River Sediment Volume = 336,863 m³, New Channel cross-sectional dimensions profile b=10 m, d=4.00 m and w=1.00 m. Keywords: Normalization, river, flood control.
