Abstract :
The coefficient of friction in open channels is generally taken into account, although the coefficient of friction in open channels greatly affects the magnitude of the flow velocity that occurs in the open channel. The purpose of this study is to determine the value of the coefficient of friction based on the value of chezy roughness (C) in an open channel that is affected by sedimentation and to determine the difference in the value of chezy roughness (C) during normal channel conditions with the current condition of the sedimented channel. The research was conducted by measuring the flow velocity using a current meter with the method of measuring 4 points when the channel was normal and 4 points per sedimentation thickness of 2 cm, 3 cm, 4 cm, and 5 cm. The method to be implemented is in the form of direct data collection using a trapezoidal channel prototype. From the results of the study with 4 measurement points, the values ??of V and C were obtained, for normal channels V = 0.48006 and C = 4.9061. For the sedimented channel, the values ??of V and C are obtained as follows, thickness of 2 cm V = 0.39624 and C = 4.0447, thickness of 3 cm V = 0.33528 and C = 3.4085, thickness of 4 cm V = 0.27432 and C = 2.7892, thickness 5 cm V = 0.23622 and C = 2.3881.
