Abstract :
Peterongan Highwaty, Jombang Regency, East Java I the main route that
connects several provinces, cities and regencies in the estern region of Java, the
road is often traversed by many heavy vehicles, so that there is the potential for
frequent overload violations. Excessive load has the potential to affect the
condition of the planned road pavement. Given these problems, this study aims to
determine the effect of overloading heavy vehicles on road conditions it includes
vehicles damage factor and design life. The data used primary and secondary data,
namely in the form of actual vehicle weight data from the Trowulan weighbridge,
LHR and the design life of the road from P2JN, then calculate the percentage of
the VDF value due to overload and decrease in design life using the value of the
vehicles damage factor method of the Bina Marga (1987)
The results of this study indicate that the overall effect of the actual
overload of heavy vehicles, the greater the percentage of overloading the occurs
can reduce the design life, With the actual overloading load occours on the
peterongan Jombang highway, it is obtained that the cumulative VDF increase
based on the Bina Marga method (1987) of 74,17 %. Decrease in design life due
to actual overloading based on the method Bina Marga (1987) of 4,997 % .
