Abstract :
ABSTRAK Concrete is a major factor in the construction sector at this time. We often encounter the main material in the manufacture of a building construction is concrete. Roads, bridges, buildings and even retaining walls on dams are also made of concrete. Concrete was chosen as a building material because it has high compressive strength. Structurally, concrete has a large enough compressive stress, so it is useful for structures that withstand compressive forces. However, concrete also has a weakness, namely its tensile strength is very low and it is brittle, so reinforcing steel is added to withstand the tensile force. The addition of reinforcing steel has not yet given optimal results. Often we encounter in a beam there are fine cracks caused by the tensile force acting on the beam. The research method used is an experimental study in the laboratory. In this study, 5 (five) variations in the percentage of addition of concrete shard waste were carried out, namely 0% (control); 10%; 20%; 30%; 40% and 50% of the initial cement weight with the number of specimens for each percentage variation totaling 5. The compressive strength test of concrete is carried out when the concrete reaches the age of 28 days. Keywords: waste concrete shards, mixed variety, compressive strength of concrete
