Abstract :
This study aims to examine the significance of the relationship between the intensity of
gadget use and student social interaction at Madrasah Tsanawiyah al Hikmah Jetis
Mojokerto. The proposed hypothesis is that there is a relationship between the intensity of
gadget use and students' social interactions. The sample in this study was taken randomly
as many as 50 students from class VIII and class IX to represent the population. The
independent variable of this study is the intensity of the use of gadgets, while the
dependent variable is the social interaction of students which is expressed by a scale.
Based on the results of the product moment statistical analysis, it is found that rxy =-0.635
and sig. or p = 0.000 (p<0.05), r2 or coefficient of determination = 0.40. This means that
there is a significant negative relationship, for example, between the Intensity of Gadget
Use and Social Interaction. This means that the higher the Intensity of Gadget Use, the
lower the Social Interaction, so the hypothesis is accepted.
