Abstract :
Corrosion is an event of damage to metal caused by environmental influences (temperature, humidity, etc.). Corrosion can damage the function and surface of the copper metal. Corrosion events occur scientifically that take place on their own and cannot be prevented completely, but it is necessary to have a prevention process and follow up on these events. This study used brass metal, electrolyte fluid HNO3 mixed with inhibitors of mixed extracts of chili and rotten tomatoes. So that the corrosion rate on the brass metal is longer than without using inhibitors of mixed extracts of chili and rotten tomatoes. Researchers want to know how the effect of inhibitor concentration and immersion time on the corrosion rate of brass metal in 1 M HNO3 solutionwith an inhibitor of mixed chili + rotten tomato extract, how the concentration and immersion time in HNO3solution 1 M inhibitory mixed extracts of chili and rotten tomatoes, How is the efficiency and time of immersion of mixed extracts of chilies, rotten tomatoes in 1 M HNO3 solutionon corrosion rate of brass metal. The results of this study are Fcount of 22183,85582, Ftable of 0.01 of 4.72, Ftable of 0.05 of 3.01, so this hypothesis is rejected. Therefore, the inhibitor concentration of the mixture of chili extract + rotten tomato has an effect on the brass rate. Key words : extract inhibitor, chili, tomato, corrosion, brass in HNO3 1 M
