ABSTRACT THE INFLUENCE OF GADGED MEDIA ON INCREASING THE CONFIDENCE OF CLASS 9 STUDENTS AT SUNAN AMPEL SMP JOMBANG by Amin Siswahyudi The development of information technology which is sophisticated and rapidly expanding in this modern era and makes it easier to communicate in society, besides having a positive impact on users, also has a negative impact. Now gadgets are used by all groups from toddlers to the elderly. Therefore, researchers are looking for answers to the influence of gadgetd media which has positive and negative impacts in the Sunan Ampel Middle School school environment on increasing piety. The aim of the author's research in examining the influence of gadget media on increasing piety is to remind parents to pay more attention to their children's daily lives. Parents should direct and check the gadgets that their children have in order to find out the positive impacts of using gadgets and also the negative impacts of using gadgets. The method in this research is that the author uses the method of observation, interviews, questionnaires and documentation, where the research uses quantitative analysis so that it can be analyzed to determine the results of the research. From the research results, gadgets are known to have an influence on adolescent behavior in increasing piety. Gadgets have a positive impact as a medium for learning various religious sciences, through lectures, reminders of prayer times, reading the Koran, learning Tajwid, fiqh, Sufism, Islamic law, looking for the verses needed, looking for the direction of the Qibla during prayer times. also willing to learn how to pray and the prayers. The negative impacts of using gadgets include forgetting prayer times, being lazy about studying, denying parental orders, lack of focus in prayer, Gadged media in schools in the community has become a daily life companion, even for the Sunan Ampel Middle School students that the author studied. Increasing student piety becomes more advanced and better because it is supported by technology which helps make it easier for students to find data sources and religious books very easily and directly. All of these influences cannot be separated from the active role of teachers in schools who instill religious knowledge in their students with the hope that piety and good behavior will be formed so that students can apply it in their daily lives.
