Abstract :
The Pacet-Cangar road section is a road that connects Mojokerto Regency and Batu City. This
road, which is located in Pacet sub-district, is often used because this route is an alternative road
to the tourist city of Batu as well as several recreational spots such as waterfalls and hot springs in
the Cangar area. The Pacet-Cangar road section is famous for being extreme. This alternative route
from Batu City to Mojokerto has steep descents and sharp turns. No wonder the number of
accidents on this route is quite high.
The aim of this research is to find out the factors that cause accidents, and what vehicles are
involved and the impact of accidents. The benefit of this research is that it can serve as a reference
and lesson for future research, especially providing information regarding analysis of traffic
accident data on the Pacet-Cangar road section. The data needed is traffic accident data from the
Mojokerto Police, Mojokerto district. The analysis carried out to identify accident-prone areas and
points (blackspots) uses a method, namely by calculating the number of fatal accidents (TF) and
the UCL limit value (upper control limit).
From the results of data analysis, there are blacksite areas, namely the Pacet-Cangar road section
km 8 ? km 9. Furthermore, road points identified as accident-prone points (blackspots) were also
found. The accident-prone point that has the highest fatality rate is the point namely the Pacet-
Cangar road section km 8 ¬¬- km9 with a value of TF = = 698,270 and UCL = 839,130. The
recommended traffic accident mitigation is to improve the awareness of road users in traffic with
driving safety education and the installation of road facilities.
