Abstract :
Every work environment that has potential dangers, it is very important to
take preventive and control steps to avoid work accidents. The work environment
at PLTU is known to have a high level of risk. This research aims to identify
potential dangers in the use of hand electrical tools (Electric Tools) at the Steam
Power Plant (PLTU) at PLTU Timor-1 Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara using the
JSA & HIRARC method.
This research is an observation in the work environment of PLTU Timor-1
based on existing sources. There are several ways to prevent work accidents
during the construction phase and commissioning phase. To identify potential
hazards, you can use HIRARC (Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, and Risk
Control) . This method is expected to be able to analyze every source of danger so
that it can reduce failures when using electrical equipment.
The results of research on the use of electrical equipment at PLTU Timor-1
are quite numerous so that it needs to be controlled in its use. This hazard can be
controlled in 5 ways. The controls that can be carried out follow the hierarchy of
control, namely substitution, elimination, technical engineering, administrative
control, and use of personal protective equipment..
The purpose of this research is that it is hoped that it can be a parameter in
controlling potential dangers that can occur at any time and anywhere, especially
in the PLTU work environment, so that it does not cause harm to individuals and
companies. Apart from that, it is hoped that this research can increase awareness
of dangers, whether in the low, medium or high categories
