Abstract :
Induction motors have several non-linear parameters, especially rotor resistance, which has varying values for different operating conditions. This causes the regulation on induction motor to be more complicated than that of an Induction Motor. One of the disadvantages of induction motors is that they are not able to maintain a constant speed when there is a change in load. If there is a change in load, the speed of the induction motor will decrease. To get a constant speed and improve the performance of induction motors against load changes, a controller is needed. Artificial Intelligent (AI) based intelligent control is widely developed to improve conventional control. Therefore, this final project will design a 3-phase induction motor control model using PID control to control the speed of a 3-phase induction motor. Then it will test both controls on a 3-phase induction motor model with changes in speed and changes in load torque. The performance results of the 3-phase induction motor control model using PID-GWO with changes in speed and changes in load torque are obtained to have a better steady state error, settling time Tand overshoot, namely with max overshoots of 1.24 when t = 0.013 seconds, with a settling time of 0.2 seconds.
