Abstract :
This study aims to characterize, test the pathogenicity of fungal isolates collected from the Mycology Laboratory of the Department of Plant Pests and Diseases in order to obtain isolates that have the potential as Plant Growth-Promoting Fungi (PGPF). Furthermore, the formulation development was carried out by growing the best isolates in environmentally friendly growing media. The resulting fungal formulation was tested to determine its effect on growth parameters of Saccharum officinarum L. sugarcane seedlings on a screen house scale. The test results showed that the collection of tested isolates had potential as PGPF, capable of producing Indole Acetic Acid (IAA) hormone and dissolving Phosphate. The fungal isolates tested were not pathogenic in sugarcane seeds. Based on morphological characters, the best fungal isolates D8 and D9 were included in the Trichoderma Genus. The fungi Trichoderma sp1 and Trichoderma sp2 which were reproduced on bagasse, sago pulp and bran, significantly increased growth of sugarcane seedling for plant height, leaf area, number of tillers, root length, root wet weight, root dry weight and brix content.
