RACHMAN A.1210208. Growth and Production Optimization of Edamame
(Glycine max L. Merril) Plants through the Administration of Nitrogen Fertilizer
and Concentrated Extract of Mung Bean Sprouts. Under immediate supervision of
Oktavianus and Setyono
This study was conducted at the Trial Farm of Agrotechnology Department of
Djuanda University, Bogor from July to September 2018. The study was aimed at
assessing the effects of the administration of nitrogen fertilizer and concentrated
extract of mung bean sprouts on the growth and production of edamame (Glycine
max L. Merril) plants. A factorial completely randomized design was used. The
first factor was N fertilizer rates with four levels, namely without N (0 kg N/ha),
0.5 recommended rate of N (34.5 kg N/ha), 1.0 recommended rate of N (69 kg
N/ha), and 1.5 recommended rate of N (103.5 kg N/ha). The second factor was
concentrated extract of mung bean sprouts with four levels, namely no
concentrated extract of mung bean sprouts (0 g sprouts/l water), 0.5 recommended
rate of concentrated extract of mung bean sprouts (75 g sprouts/l water), 1.0
recommended rate of concentrated extract of mung bean sprouts (150 g sprouts/l
water), and 1.5 recommended rate of concentrated extract of mung bean sprouts
(225 g sprouts/l water). Results showed that N fertilizer rates gave significant
effects on leave width and concentrated extract of mung bean sprouts rates
significantly affected number of buds at 6 and 7 weeks after planting (WAP).
