Abstract :
Hoar, Yanuaria Yovita 2022. "A Study of Vocabulary Mastery using a picture of Class I students at SMP Negeri 1 Malaka Timur in the 2020/2021 academic year", the main supervisor named Drs. Anselmus Sahan, M.Pd and Advisor II Drs. Edmundus Bouk, M.Pd. The purpose of this research is to determine the level of vocabulary mastery using pictures and to find out the difficulties faced by students in vocabulary are all pictures that are known and used by certain people and all words in certain languages or subjects. This study focuses on vocabulary using pictures. This type of research is descriptive quantitative research. The samples taken were twenty (20) students. To analyze the data the authors calculated the number of correct answers (RA) divided by the number of items (IT) and multiplied by one hundred percent (100%). This helps to know the level of student mastery. The test used to collect data is a multiple choice test. Based on the findings and discussion, the results of the study are that the first grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Malaka Timur in the 2020/2021 academic year have mastery of English Vocabulary respectively by using Question 20 (83%), which are categorized in level pods, after concluding the data, the authors concluded that the first graders of SMP Negeri 1 Malaka Timur mastered the level of learning English vocabulary. Therefore, the authors suggest that students pay more attention and be creative to increase their knowledge of Vocabulary.This thesis entitled, "An analysis of students mastery on antonym of the First Grade Students of SMP Negeri 1 Malaka Timur In the School Year of 2021/2022" has been defended in front of the board examiners on 19 januari 2022.
