Keywords: self-management strategies, counseling groups, student interest in learning English. Learning is the most basic activities, this means that the success or failure of education goals much depend on how the process of learning and interest in learning experienced by students as a protege. The problems experienced by students in SMAS Al-Islam Krian Sidoarjo is a lack of student interest in the subject of English. This study design using pre-experimental study with a kind of one group pretest-posttest design. This study consisted of two variables, the variable X is a self-management strategy and Y is the student interest in the subject of English. The population in this study were students of class XI IPS in SMAS Al-Islam Krian Sidoarjo which amounted to 72 students. While the sample is taken from the students who received the lowest score from the pretest is given that is numbered 6. Methods of data collection using measurement scale tests have been conducted validity and reliability testing Alpha Cronbach .Teknik data analysis using the Wilcoxon test with the results obtained Asymp. Sig = 0.028 <0.05 then Ho is rejected and Ha accepted. That is a significant difference in the use of selfmanagement strategies in the counseling group to increase student interest in the subject of English
