Abstract :
Abstract This study describes the description of the implementation of the Earth Alms tradition in the Cibarusah Jaya Village Community. Explain the stages of implementing the Earth alms tradition. Explain the community's efforts in preserving the Earth Alms tradition. As well as explaining the social meaning contained in the Earth alms tradition in Cibarusah Jaya Village. The Earth Alms tradition in Cibarusah Jaya Village is held once a year, this symbolizes human gratitude to God Almighty who has given His sustenance through the mother and all forms of the earth's produce. Data collection techniques through interviews, field observations, literature studies, and documentation studies. Descriptive method with a qualitative approach and ethnographic studies, to describe the current phenomena and to describe the results of research with a qualitative approach through socio-cultural studies. Data analysis uses the data triangulation method, which is a combined analysis or combination of various methods used to examine interrelated phenomena from different perspectives and perspectives. In this case, the writer interviewed several informants whose data were saturated, namely the data provided by five informants were the same data. There are two types of informants in this study, namely the main informants (core informants), namely Cibarusah Jaya Village elders, community leaders and accompanying informants (supporting informants) namely the Cibarusah Jaya Village head, Cibarusah Jaya Village staff and the Cibarusah Jaya Village community. Based on the results of the study, it shows that the Earth Alms tradition is a form of gratitude to God Almighty for what has been given in their lives. The efforts made by the people of Cibarusah Jaya Village are to provide understanding to the next generation so that this Earth alms tradition is not lost/extinct. Suggestions in this study are the community members, especially Cibarusah Jaya Village, to always preserve and maintain ancestral traditions so that they do not become extinct and disappear to the next generation.
