Abstract :
ABSTRACT Jengkol or jering (Archidendron pauciflorum, synonyms: A. jiringa, pithecellobium jiringa, p. lobatum) is a typical plant in Southeast Asia whose seeds are popular in Malaysia called (jering) and Myanmar (da nyin thee). And in Thailand it is called (luk nieng) jengkol including the legume tribe (fabaceae). Jengkol in this case belongs to the group of fruits that have not been cultivated optimally. This study aims to determine: (1) the jengkol trade system in Pardasuka Village, Pardasuka District, Pringsewu Regency. (2) the jengkol commercial system involved in the commercial system in Pardasuka Village, Pardasuka District, Pringsewu Regency. (3) the existing trade system functions in the jengkol trading system in Pardasuka Village, Pardasuka District, Pringsewu Regency. This research uses analytical methods, namely descriptive analysis method, marketing channel analysis method, marketing functions method, market structure analysis method, market behavior analysis method, marketing margin analysis method, Farmer's share analysis method, profit and cost ratio. The result of this research is that the jengkol trade system involves several trading institutions, namely farmers, collectors, wholesalers, and retailers. Operationally, out of the three existing trading system channels, the 1st trade system is more efficient if it is seen from the value of the trade system margin which is evenly distributed in every trading system involved and seen from the distribution of the largest profit-to-cost ratio (?i-Ci rasio).
