Abstract :
This research is motivated by the low problem solving ability in SD Tiara School Jakarta. This can be seen from the results of observations and work results that are still not able to determine what is known and asked about the question, students also still do not understand a concept regarding formulas for working on questions, when the teacher gives a story problem there are still students who have not been able to solve the problem. and students also cannot conclude the results of their answers. The purpose of the study was to improve mathematical problem solving skills through a problem posing model for fifth grade students at Tiara School Elementary School Jakarta. This research uses Classroom Action Research (CAR) with 2 cycles. Each cycle is carried out in 4 stages, namely the planning, implementation, evaluation and reflection stages. Research subjects in one class are 20. Consisting of 9 women and 11 men. Data collection techniques in this study were performance tests and observations. The results of this study can be explained that there is an increase in students' problem solving abilities in each cycle. It is proven that in the first cycle the percentage of classical completeness is 50% with an average value of 74. In the second cycle the percentage of classical completeness has increased to 85% with an average of 86, so the research is said to be successful because the percentage of classical completeness is above the KKM, which is 80%
