As a first step to enter the world of work, students are required to be able to develop
abilities, knowledge, skills and personality attributes as a provision for their readiness to
work so that they are able to compete in getting the job they want, given the increasing
number of college graduates who are not absorbed in the world of work every year. In this
regard, there are several factors that can affect work readiness, including a hedonic lifestyle
and self-efficacy.
This study aims to determine the correlation between hedonic lifestyle variables,
self-efficacy and work readiness in final year students at Islamic University "45" Bekasi.
The research instrument used in this study is the hedonic lifestyle scale, self-efficacy and
work readiness. Respondents in this study amounted to 94 final year students who were
selected based on simple random sampling technique. The data analysis technique uses the
Rank Spearman correlation test. The results of the study show that there is a positive
relationship between the hedonic lifestyle and self-efficacy in final year students.
The instrument reliability test using Cronbach's alpha formula yielded a value of r
alpha = 0.671 for the hedonic lifestyle scale, r alpha = 0.712 for the self-efficacy scale, and r
alpha = 0.700 for the work readiness scale. then data analysis techniques using descriptive
analysis and hypothesis testing using Rank Spearman's Rho Correlation. The results of the
Rank Spearman's Rho Correlation test showed a positive relationship between the hedonic
lifestyle and work readiness (r= 0.323, p <0.05), there was a positive relationship between
self-efficacy and work readiness, and there was a significant influence between the hedonic
lifestyle and self-efficacy on work readiness (r= 0.543).
