Abstract :
This study aims to provide an overview of the application of the picture and picture learning model in improving the narrative essay writing skills of elementary school students . This research is motivated by the low skills of writing narrative essays of students. This can be seen from students still having problems in using vocabulary, students' ignorance about what will be written, and teachers have not used learning media that makes students interested in learning materials so that student feel bored . One solution that can overcome these problems is by applying the picture and picture learning model . This research method uses Systematic Literature Review (SLR). The data obtained using data collection techniques in the form of problem identification, data search, screening, extraction and review . The inclusion indicators of this research include: Research articles published in the last 8 years, articles discussing the picture and picture learning model in improving narrative essay writing skills for elementary school students, research articles using Indonesian and reputable articles 1-6. Of the 19 articles that have been reviewed , the ones that do the most research are in the high class, namely class IV. The most widely used method in research based on the results of a literature review is using the Quasi Experiment method. And all articles that have been reviewed 100% have increased and have an effect in using the picture and picture learning model .
