Abstract :
The purpose of this study is to find out how the Islamic religious education teacher program in religious activities at SMK PGRI 1 Tambun Selatan, how islamic religious education teachers' efforts towards learning activities in improving literacy competence in students at SMK PGRI 1 Tambun Selatan, and find out what are the supporting and inhibiting factors in religious literacy activities at SMK PGRI 1 Tambun Selatan.
This research is carried out through analytical techniques from data that has been obtained during research activities, and researchers try to explain and explain rationally, objectively with existing problems and objectives. The research method used is a qualitative research method and the type of research used is descriptive, that is, the research seeks to observe a phenomenon in its natural state.
The results of this study are the efforts made by PAI teachers on learning activities in increasing religious literacy competence, namely memorizing verses of the Qur'an, Improving student literacy culture is also diverse. Starting from reading before learning, then by asking questions, students are invited to discuss, memorize deposits, summarize or summarize the material, then also invite students to do learning outside the classroom, in addition to religious literacy programs in improving religious literacy competencies such as, reading Al-Quran. Qur'an and dhuha prayers, birthday activities, isra mi'raj, sacrifices and donations for orphans are expected to improve and shape the character of students who have good morals and apply not only in schools but in the community. Apart from that, the supporting factors are the government, school committee parents and teachers and the inhibiting factors are the lack of facilities and infrastructure that are less supportive and lazy students.
