Abstract :
Lombok is one of the islands in Indonesia which is rich in ethnicity and culture, each tribe in Indonesia has its own culture and characteristics, including the Sasak tribe on the island of Lombok. Sasak puppetry is one of these cultures, but with modernization people are more familiar with stories of foreign superhero/heroes so that wayang stories are starting to be abandoned and unknown to most of the current generation. Based on these problems, this design was made with the aim of preserving the sasak wayang story, namely the story of Amir Hamzah through comic media. Comic is a medium that uses storytelling and visual elements so that it is expected to be the right medium for this story. In the puppet story, Amir Hamzah tells the story of a baby who is predicted to be in Anjam or Arabia who can defeat the nursewan in the future, namely the prince of the medayin kingdom. Patih Betal Drying was immediately assigned by the king, namely King Sri Kobatsyah, to kill all babies in Anjam and Arabia. At the same time, the king of the Arab kingdom, King Abdul Muttalib, was waiting for the birth of his youngest son after meditating for eleven years to gain enlightenment. But apparently in the Arab kingdom there was no bloodshed and the baby, the youngest son of King Abdul Muttalib, grew up through his childhood with his cousin Umar Maya. In this design, the design thinking method is carried out to get the right problem solving solution in designing the work. The final result of this final project is a comic of Amir Hamzah's sasak wayang stories to preserve the sasak wayang stories that are targeted for teenage readers.
