Abstract :
Technological advances over time have developed rapidly so that it can provide a lot of ease for humans to do daily work, namely doing maintenance on ornamental plants that are in the house one example of ornamental plants that are in the house namely ivory betel plant. To care for the plant it is necessary for watering to do. Watering is the most important routine work for plants to continue to grow and develop. Automation can be utilized to help do routine work because it can run continuously without knowing the time. Knowing the watering time is important in the watering process. One of the technologies that can facilitate a person in doing plant maintenance, especially in watering, is to implement an automatic and monitorable watering system that belongs to the concept of Internet of Things (IoT) technology. The Internet of Things or often called IoT is an idea where all objects in the real world can communicate with each other as part of a unified integrated system using the internet network as a hub. The design and creation of this system uses the methodology of NDLC (Network Development Life Cycle), which starts at the analysis stage which includes data collection using literature study methods and needs analysis in the form of hardware design and software prangat design, then there are design stages that include the design of electronic circuits and the creation of telegram bots, and most recently the simulation prototyping stage which includes scenario trials. The results achieved after this study were conducted is generated an internet of things based automatic watering system using NodeMCU integrated with Telegram and using ivory betel houseplant as an object. The conclusion of this study is that the application of an internet of things-based automatic watering system using NodeMCU integrated with Telegram can help the community in treating plants, especially watering plants. The system can also flush automatically by detecting soil conditions in plants and can be monitored/monitored using telegram app
