Abstract :
Internet users worldwide reached 3 billion people in 2015 and it is estimated that in 2018 it will reach 3.6 billion people. In particular, Indonesia is ranked 6th in the world in 2017 (Kominfo). The Indonesian Internet Service Providers Association (APJII) on March 22, 2018, on an official website that explains the survey results, the penetration of Internet users in Indonesia has increased to 143.26 million people or 54.7 percent of the total population of this republic. Applicatively, the internet is multi-functional which can be used or used by various parties. Therefore it is necessary to check the pattern of internet usage at SMKN 3 Mataram. Then formulated the problem of how to classify the pattern of Internet use at SMKN 3 Mataram. The population in this study were all residents of SMKN 3 Mataram. The data collection method used was a questionnaire with random sampling techniques and proxy web proxy. The purpose of this research is to analyze the patterns of internet use at SMKN 3 Mataram, so that it can be seen whether internet usage is still in the safe category or not and to classify each internet site into five parts, namely social media, entertainment, information, education and finance. The results obtained from testing using the use of the internet are still classified as safe even though there are still those who access unsafe sites and the proportion of classification from log data and questionnaires shows that the need for internet use is the highest with social media while the lowest is financial.
