Abstract :
E-mail is the communication service that used by most people. E-mail service mostly used in communication between branch of offices, business inquiry, and applying for a job. From the importance of the e-mail service that said above, it is important to considerate the security aspect of it, especially from the malware threat. Previous researches are focusing on the usage of UTM to secure other service than e-mail. Implementation of Sophos UTM is able to prevent the malware intrusion on e-mail service with SMTP proxy and POP3 proxy. SMTP proxy is able to prevent malware intrusion through SMTP, meanwhile POP3 proxy is able to prevent malware intrusion through POP3. Research method that used in this research is Network Development Life Cycle (NDLC). There are 3 stages that used in this research namely Analysis, Design, dan Prototype Simulation. The result of this research is Sophos UTM managed to block 3 kinds of malware through the test scenarios. The kinds of malwares those used in this research including Trojan, ransomware, and virus.
