Abstract :
Tunelling is a method in the network that is the basis of the virtual private network (VPN) method, SSTP is one of the tunneling methods using SSTP with the advantage of being more secure. One of the purposes of using tunneling is to make private interconnections between the two sides of the network safer because the network used is encrypted even though it uses a public network, because the network in tunneling has been encapsulated by the protocol and is also not disturbed or interfered with other networks because it is point-to-point. -point. The application used in this study is VMware Workstation Pro, Virtual RouterOS chr-6.48.1 provided by MikroTik for learning with the difference being in bandwidth limitation, which is limited to 1MB to 2MB, Virtual Windows 8.1 as a virtual PC server and client, Wireshark to analyze network, winbox to configure the virtual router. In this paper the author uses the Network Development Live Cycle (NDLC) methodology and the author only uses three stages, namely analysis, design, prototype simulation. The author in this study examines the Quality of Service on the SSTP method with parameters tested throughput, delay, jitter, and packet loss to compare network quality when using SSTP and not using SSTP. The author got the results from this study with the experimental results of sending pdf and xlsx files from PC BR1 to PC Server and PC BR2 to PC Server 3 times sending experiments with 3 times successful sending from PC BR1 to PC Server and 3 times successfully from PC BR2 to PC Servers. For the value of the QoS parameter throughput when sending pdf files from PC BR1 to PC Server and PC BR2 to PC Servers with a file size of 1.53MB very good, For xlsx files with large files 11KB from PC BR1 to PC Server and PC BR2 to PC Server very good category. For the delay parameter from PC BR1 to PC Server and PC BR2 to PC Server for pdf files categorized very good and for xlsx files categorized as medium. The jitter parameters from PC BR1 to PC Server and PC BR2 to PC Server for pdf and xlsx files are categorized as very good.
